
The University Of The Aegean Is Hosting The United Nations International Conference On Digital Governance (ICEGOV 2021)
The pulse of Global Electronic Governance will be beating in October 2021 in Athens
The United Nations International Conference on Digital Governance, ICEGOV 2021 will be held in-person from 6th-8th October 2021 for the first time in Athens, marking a unique event for Digital Governance and for Greece.
ICEGOV 2021 has been jointly organized by the University of the Aegean and the United Nations University under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance and is being held at Harokopio University in Athens.
After previous events in India (2017), Ireland (2018), Australia (2019) and the online conference (2020), the Greek ICEGOV 2021 will highlight the most important issues of Digital Governance globally, such as:
- Restructuring and new ways of providing public digital services for citizens and business
- The digital transformation of local government
- The central IT infrastructure of states and related interoperability standards
- The impact of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, 5G communications and the Internet of Things on the governance of tomorrow.
- Changes and challenges brought about by the Covid pandemic
- Emerging systems of Law and Informatics and related infrastructure for parliaments and central governments.
The following institutions and organisations will participate in ICEGOV 2021:
- The Ministry of Digital Governance with keynote speeches from the Minister of Digital Governance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis and the Secretary-General of Information Systems, Prof. Dimosthenis Anagnostopoulos.
- Senior officials of the United Nations, the European Commission, the OECD, UNESCO and other international organisations of global governance.
- The most influential specialists globally from the field of Digital Governance.
