The Rector administers and legally represents the University, convenes, and presides over the University Council and the University Senate and oversees the implementation of the decisions taken by these bodies.

The Rector is assisted in his/her duties by Vice-Rectors. The Rector defines the areas of responsibility of each Vice-Rector, following the approval of the University Council. The number of Vice-Rectors may not exceed four (4) and their term of office is parallel to that of the Rector.
