University of the Aegean held the first DigiTalk on the Coexistence of Refugees and Local Communities
The first DigiTalk by the University of the Aegean, titled “Creating Coexistence between Refugees and Host Communities: Social and Legal Challenges,” was successfully held on Wednesday, May 21, moderated by Dr. Theodoros Iosifidis.
The main speakers, Dr. Ildiko Otova from New Bulgarian University and Dr. Lucas Pérez from Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, presented key points on migration and refugee integration. Through Dr. Otova’s analyses on migration in Europe and Dr. Pérez’s talk on the integration of unaccompanied minors, participants had the opportunity to ask questions and share different perspectives on the topics presented.
The DigiTalk was attended by 60 people, including professors and students of humanities, political and social sciences from Greece and abroad. This event is part of the DigiTalk series “Achieving Social Change in ERUA’s Local Communities and Regions,” organized by the University of the Aegean as part of its participation in the European Reform University Alliance (ERUA).
