The proceedings of the two-day ERUA “Digital Escape Meeting” in Syros resulted in a joint agreement between the Alliance members to establish a common identity infrastructure “ERUA:ID”, serving as an accepted recognition mechanism within the Alliance.
Students and academic staff of the Alliance will be able to use the ERUA:ID to authenticate and gain access to any ERUA service, further enhancing the virtual exchange experience provided by the Alliance
ERUA:ID will interface with existing student registers and university identification systems and will be made available to a range of Wallet applications (Jolocom and lissi.ID). The ERUA identity holder will have access to the services included in ERUA DServX, (a common digital service space for courses, online classes, summer/winter schools, virtual exchange seminars, etc.) with enhanced data protection conditions. The same certification mechanism will be used to maintain verifiable records of student learning attainment.
The integration strategy for connecting ERUA digital services to ERUA DServX was also outlined, as well as the steps for implementing the proposed architectural solutions.
At ERUA, we are building a new culture of digital reality, principally for our students and university communities.
